X-55 Performance

Designed for the future
X-Yachts Design Group used their experience from designing the IMX 70 to develop the new X-55 with many exclusive features which are new to a performance cruiser in this market segment.

The foredeck design with its flush deck hatches, the cabin just stopping in front of the mast and the very clean deck layout makes the X-55 look larger then her size and is a result of very innovative solutions.

The open cockpit, as featured on the X-50 and IMX 70, gives the yacht an elegant look, together with a spacious and functional area under sail - when moored in the harbour or when you are anchoring for sunbathing or taking a swim.

Interior sophistication
Below deck the X-55 is designed to emphasize the arrival of the new era in interior craftsmanship and detailing. New corner and panel design are just some of the features that will stand out when entering the yacht, and during relaxing evening dinners below deck, the luxurious style will offer both family and friends an unforgettable time on board.

The X-55 will be available in two main cabin layouts with the option to vary the forepeak to suit the owner’s needs and wishes:

  • Classic layout with long sofa at starboard
  • Classic layout with two armchairs at starboard

The forepeak can vary between three different berth layouts or a two cabin fore-peak.

Above deck

  • Flush foredeck hatches
  • Foldable mooring cleats
  • Recessed flush sprayhood compartment
  • Flush cockpit hatches
  • All control and trim lines led under deck

 Below deck

  • Teak interior with horizontal grain and “panel” structure
  • New corner design on furniture like the IMX 70
  • Sky screen roller and mosquito blinds fitted to hatches in saloon and forepeak
  • Honeycomb cored teak floorboards with inserted décor lines and border lines

Construction
In the construction of the X-55 the typical X-Yachts safety and structural features are integrated:

  • Hull and deck sandwich construction in conjunction with solid laminate for lowest weight and highest strength
  • Heat galvanized high strength steel girder to absorb loads from the keel, mast and rig that allows high rig tension and safety in all imaginable situations

Exclusivity in its highest grade
The international debut of the X-55 is scheduled for early summer 2006 and its arrival will mark a milestone in
X-Yachts’ 27 years history where performance, safety, durability and elegance have evolved into a new era.
