X-55 "Roxanne"

20 July, Haderslev, Denmark

The first X-55,”Roxanne”, is now launched and heading for her maiden voyages in Denmark, Sweden and Norway before sailing to The Netherlands, where the owner and his family live.

Lars Jeppesen from X-Yachts took the new yacht out for test sailing in the open waters outside Haderslev. On board with him were the new owners and a crew consisting of naval architects and engineers from X-Yachts Design Group.

Back in the X-Yachts marina, Lars Jeppesen commented:
“I am very satisfied with the performance of the boat. The helming was nice and fun, and as you can see on the photos, she is very fast even though the wind was light during our test sailing.

The X-55 is easily driven, and has a very sensitive response on the wheel - she felt extremely well balanced. I think my brother and designer, Niels Jeppesen, and his design team can be proud of the performance and the elegant lines of this new X-55.”

A boat highly suited for long-distance sailing
The buyer of hull number six was on board “Roxanne” the day she left for her maiden voyage in order to specify which version he and his wife wanted for their new X-55. This couple was planning long-distance sailing and a circumnavigation.

On show in Haderslev 26 and 27 August
The X-55 will be on show at X-Yachts Floating Boat Show in Haderslev on the 26th and 27th August 2006.
